The Goldman Sachs 10,000 program will be presented at the Business Women’s Network meeting on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Young’s Steak Restaurant, 850 Robert Blvd., Slidell. The meeting begins at 5:30pm and ends at 7 p.m.
Goldman Saches 10,000 Small Businesses is a program for small businesses that links learning to action. Selected applicants will gain access to a world-class business education and connections to a professional support network at no cost.
Through the program, participants will gain practical skills in topics such as negotiation, marketing, and employee management that can immediately be put into action. In addition, they will receive the tools and professional support to develop a strategic and customized growth plan that will take their business to the next level.
Across the U.S., 10,000 Small Businesses graduates are increasing their revenues and creating new jobs in their communities.
Goldman Sachs came to New Orleans in 2010, the third location in the nation after New York and Los Angeles. Other cities include Houston, Chicago, Cleveland, Long Beach, Salt Lake City, Philadelphia, Miami and Detroit. So far nearly 270 businesses have participated in the program in New Orleans.
The program is delivered through a local partnership with Delgado Community College. Other community partners include the Louisiana Small Business Development Center, the Urban League of Greater New Orleans, Greater New Orleans Inc., the New Orleans Chamber of Commerce, Hope Enterprises, the City of New Orleans and The Idea Village.
Andrea Picou, Lead Faculty for the 10,000 Small Businesses program, will be the presenter of this program at the BWN meeting. She coordinates a team of seven faculty and three business advisors who deliver curriculum and counsel each small business owner accepted into the program.
Cost to attend the BWN meeting is $25 for members, $28 for nonmembers and includes dinner. RSVPs are required by contacting Lydia J. Alford at firstname.lastname@example.org or (985) 643-6440.
